En julio del 2010 quede embarazada, todo iba bien hasta que en la semana 34 de embarazo me detectan liquido amniótico aumentado, yo me atendía en una salita de barrio hasta ese momento no me decía nada la obstetra, un médico particular llamado warton, me mando hacer un scan fetal, de ahí solo se detecta una cardiopatía, un quiste de Dandy Walker, y nada mas todo parecía bien, me derivan un hospital Gandulfo de Lomas de Zamora, ahí los médicos me atendieron muy bien cada semana iba a control, hasta que deciden el día 10/11/2011 internarme para hacerme una cesárea, ya que la bebe había dejado de crecer, Julieta nace un 11 de marzo del 2011 con 1700k, hasta ahí todo bien le dieron todos los cuidados que debía tener, me mandan hacer un estudio genético, ya que había rasgos de que sea síndrome de Edwards, a la semana me dan el diagnostico, yo no sabía de qué se trataba hasta que fui a internet, ahí vi los peores pronósticos, la primer semana fue bastante critica ya que a juli le tuvieron que hacer una transfusión, de a poco fue saliendo de ese estado, hasta que un día fue pasada a bajo riesgo ahí, día a día y de a poco fue aumentando de peso, llegó al 1900k ya empecé a tramitar su mochila de oxigeno cuando otra vez un virus hace que le agarre una neumonía, la trasladan a terapia de ahí vuelve a salir, siempre bien atendida y medicada, sus apneas estaban controladas, pero su medicación ya era muy fuerte con su tan bajo peso no pudo resistir, y un 25 de abril del 2011, abre sus alitas.

In July 2010, I became pregnant. Everything was going well until the 34th week of my pregnancy when they detected an excess amount of amniotic fluid. I was following-up in a local health center and until that moment, no one had mentioned anything was wrong. The obstetrician, a private doctor called Warton, send me to get a foetal scan, and it detected a congenital heart defect and a Dandy-Walker cyst. Nothing else was noted; everything else seemed to be fine. They referred me to Gandulfo Hospital in Lomas de Zamora (Argentina). There, the doctors provided me with excellent care and weekly checks until they decided to hospitalize me for a C-section since my baby’s growth had stopped. Julieta was born on March 11th, weighing 1,700g. Everything was fine up to this point, and she was receiving the care that she needed. But she had some features of Edwards syndrome, so a genetic test was performed. One week later, they gave me the diagnosis. I did not know what it meant until I went to the internet. There, I saw the worst prognosis. The first week was rather critical since Juli needed a transfusion. Little by little, she overcame her critical state, and she was transitioned to a lower risk room. Day by day, her weight increased and she reached 1,900 g. And then she developed pneumonia. She was transferred back to a room with a higher-level of care, and continued to receive good treatment and medical care. Her apneic episodes were well-controlled, but she was too small for stronger medications and could not fight her illness. On April 25, 2011, she opened her little wings.
