Reaching Great Heights – Wanessa’s Story
Wanessa, is 12-year-old girl who is full of joy and life. We view her diagnosis of Down syndrome as a gift and an advantage in life, which does not limit her in any way. Wanessa’s dictionary does not include the words “I can’t”. Perserverence, a key feature of Down syndrome, allows her to reach great heights, and not just metaphorically – she has climbed mountains in Poland including the Nosal and the Turbacz with her brother who also has a disability.
She attends the public elementary school in Lipka and is a student in the 5th grade. She enjoys school, is very close to her classmates, and loves to study. She is a model at the Zebrablue Modeling Agency, and has auditioned for Reporter Young (a Polish clothing brand). Together with her brother she took part in a project for the Złotowianka Foundation where she recorded a music video “Tacy sami” (https://fb.watch/3IQcL_0xd2/) with other children and young people who have disabilities.
She loves horses riding and dancing, and has made two public appearances at the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. She has been painting for two years now, an activity which she is very passionate about. She has had private viewings of her artwork in Złotów, Przeźmierów, Piła, Łódź, Łobżenica and Okonek. Her paintings can also be found in the “ Integracja” gallery in Stronie Śląskie. One of her paintings was chosen from almost 1,500 entries and displayed on a large screen at the Grand Gala of Integration which took place at the National Theater in Warsaw.
Every day Wanessa shows that with hard work and a focus on personal development, one can reach for the stars. She and her brother, who has atypical autism, cerebral palsy and damage to the central nervous system, love going on trips. We spend almost every weekend visiting interesting places, museums or conquering the peaks of our Polish mountains.

Osiągając wielkie wysokości – Historia Wanessa
Wanesska, radosna 12 latka, która otrzymała w prezencie bonus jakim jest Zespół Downa. Ten bonus jest jej atutem i w niczym jej nie ogranicza. W słowniku Wanesski nie ma słów “nie umiem”, “nie dam rady”. Upartość, która jest nieodłącznym elementem zespołu pozwala jej zdobywać szczyty, te realne jak Nosal czy Turbacz, które zdobyła razem z niepełnosprawnym bratem, ale również szczyty jej osiągnięć.
Chodzi do publicznej szkoły podstawowej w Lipce, jest uczennicą 5 klasy, z którą jest bardzo związana. Uwielbia się uczyć i kocha szkołę. Jest modelem w Agencji modelingu Zebrablue, ma za sobą casting w Reporter Young. Razem z bratem wzięła udział w projekcie Fundacji Złotowianka i wraz z innymi wyjątkowymi osobami nagrała teledysk “Tacy sami” (https://fb.watch/3IQcL_0xd2/).
Uwielbia jeździć konno i tańczyć, ma na koncie dwa publiczne występy podczas Wielkiej Orkiestry Świątecznej Pomocy. Od dwóch lat maluje obrazy. Malowanie jest jej pasją i wielkim sukcesem. Ma za sobą wernisaże w Złotowie, Przeźmierowie, Pile, Łódzi, Łobżenicy i Okonku. Jej obrazy znajdują się w galerii Integracja. A jeden z obrazów został wybrany z prawie półtora tysiąca nadesłanych prac i pokazany na telebimie podczas Wielkiej Gali Integracji w Teatrze Narodowym w Warszawie.
Każdego dnia Wanesska pokazuje, że dzięki ciężkiej pracy i intensywnej rehabilitacji można osiągnąć szczyty, można sięgnąć do gwiazd. Razem z bratem który również jest niepełnosprawny ma autyzm atypowy, MPD i uszkodzenia QUN, uwielbiają wycieczki. Prawie każdy weekend spędzamy zwiedzając ciekawe miejsca, odwiedzając muzea czy zdobywając szczyty naszych Polskich gór.
Pozwól rozwinąć dziecku skrzydła a nauczy się latać – i tak jest w wypadku Wanesski.
